Pickering Celebrates 75 Years of Service & Good Work

In 2021, Pickering is celebrating 75 years of Service and Good Work! When O.L. Pickering founded our firm in 1946, his mission was simple: to provide Service and Good Work. 75 years later, we proudly continue to follow that mission, and what an impact that simple statement has become.

The Pickering family takes Service and Good Work, Our Foundation, Our Future very seriously as we connect with our community, coworkers, clients, friends and family. The family atmosphere at Pickering is gladly extended to support great organizations such as Focus Memphis, Mississippi Alzheimer’s, The Little Lighthouse, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Boys/Girls Club Gulf Coast, Church Health, Arkansas Children’s Home and various education initiatives. We are honored to have designed spaces for and worked with organizations such as the Mid-South Food Bank and Memphis Union Mission. Working for and with these organizations brings joy and a great sense of pride to the Pickering family, our clients, and the communities in which we thrive. We feel blessed that we can carry forth Service and Good Work, even over this last year of an unforeseen pandemic.

As we planned exactly how we wanted to celebrate our 75th year, we kept coming back to two things: our mission statement of Service and Good Work, and the fact that our people are what make us special. If you ask any employee what it is that sets Pickering apart, they always answer “the people”. The people who work here are kind and generous and that spirit is at the core of our company culture.  

This year to celebrate our achievement of 75 years, we are challenging ourselves to perform “75 Acts of Service & Good Work”. Together, we are working towards a commitment to provide intentional acts of service for our families, friends, co-workers and communities. Each month, we will highlight the community projects organized by our team and acts of kindness we see each day. The Pickering family celebrates each other, our clients and community all the time and we are excited to share these moments with you during our 75th anniversary year. Stay tuned….
