Senior Architectural Designer

Memphis, TN

Duties: Responsible for the preparation of architectural plans, sections, elevations, details, and presentation materials under the direction and supervision of a Project Architect.  This will apply to industrial and manufacturing type projects. In performing these tasks, the team member will be expected to apply technical knowledge in the design and construction of projects, in which to handle more complexity over time; as well as further advance the ability to organize, problem solve and communicate. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

Must have a bachelor’s degree in architecture or closely related with 5 years of industrial/manufacturing architecture and construction experience, including: 

  • Preparing scaled drawings and contract documents for building contractors using Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Develop 3D conceptual designs

  • Researching and identifying products (finishes, fixtures, etc.) including building materials, lighting fixtures, paint, carpet, and wall coverings.

  • Planning diagrams/layouts during schematic design, demonstrating ability to arrange a unified design, including Site plan, Building orientation, Traffic patterns, Location of utilities.

  • Coordinating with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers.

  • Researching codes and other standards as necessary for compliance including Life Safety Code, International Building Code, Fire Code, and Local amendments to the codes.

  • Professional skill in Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Premier Pro, Enscape, and Lumion.

  • Conducting site visits to ensure conformance to design and answering contractor questions during construction.

 Employer will also accept a master’s degree in architecture and 3 years of experience.

HOURS:

40 hours/week, Monday-Friday
