Staff Geologist/Environmental Scientist

Pickering has an immediate career opportunity for a Geologist/Environmental Scientist to join our Natural Resources team located in Flowood, MS. Qualified applicants have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in geology, environmental sciences, earth sciences, or related fields. Projects may include Phase I/II environmental site assessments, ecological and natural resource field surveys, environmental media sampling, tank closure assessments, asbestos abatement, storm water management, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) assessments, and site planning and permitting. Must work within Pickering’s corporate philosophy of performing quality work for our clients, treat our employees as our prime asset and be active, responsible members of the community. Some travel and overnight stays may be required, as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducting environmental site assessments
Data collection, entry, and review
Supervising subcontractors
Assisting senior staff with the preparation of proposals and technical reports
Technical communication and coordination with clients and resource agency personnel

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree
Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to multitask, maintains flexibility, and works independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Work with Project Managers to prepare deliverables
Assist in the information flow to and from clients
