Architecture

Pickering designed the new Wright Medical headquarters, an orthopedic device firm located in East Memphis, Tennessee.

The project consisted of the renovation of two existing buildings on a 35-acre wooded campus in the heart of Memphis. The office building was formerly the headquarters for Holiday Inn and Promus Companies. Later, Harrah’s Entertainment was headquartered inside the buildings.

Building I, built in 1984, consists of a 3-floor, 78,000 SF renovation. Building 2, built in 1994, consists of renovations of the lower level and the first floor and is approximately 61,000 SF. Both buildings were renovated simultaneously and the renovation timeframe was dramatically condensed into approximately 3 months.

Every effort was made to create a unique, modern design that encompasses their corporate color scheme and their desire of their corporate core values of “focused excellence”.
