Survey Crew, Supervisor

Pickering Firm is seeking a Field Survey Supervisor/Crew Chief to join our Flowood team. Successful candidate will supervise and direct the operation of the survey field party in the execution of a wide range of surveying and mapping assignments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participates in pre-planning meetings with project managers

• Conducting land surveys

• Measures field location of objects, the dimensions and boundaries of land areas, and the position of points, lines and grades

• Operates conventional and electronic field surveying instruments

• Sets up and operates total stations, GPS receivers, data collectors and other instruments

• Establish angles and distances for mapping construction, stake out and the establishment of control

QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity with a variety of the surveying field concepts, practices and procedures

• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain clear and accurate field notes is required

• Strong technical understanding of survey field equipment and data collection processes is required.

• Past experience in boundary and topographic surveying including ALTA surveys and as-built surveys along with construction staking for roads, buildings, and utilities.

• Valid driver’s license required

• Much have the ability to travel overnight
